Johan de Fraye
NICOLE (Network on Industrially Co-ordinated Sustainable Land Management in Europe)
Johan De Fraye is a Belgian national with over 30 years of experience managing environmental issues in industrial settings. He has worked for a contractor, consulting engineers and industry and is currently the Global Head of Environment, Health & Safety at Signify (formerly Philips Lighting). He is also the Chair of the Network on Industrially Co-ordinated Sustainable Land Management in Europe (NICOLE). Before joining Signify, Mr De Fraye worked for 8 years in the UK with CH2M (now Jacobs Engineering) as their EMEA general manager for Environmental Services. Before that, he managed Honeywell’s Europe and Middle-East portfolio of contaminated sites. He has worked on numerous soil and groundwater investigation and remediation projects in Europe, the Americas, China and Asia Pacific and holds an MSc in Earth Sciences from KULeuven in Belgium and currently lives in the Netherlands.
