World Living Soils Forum

On June 1 and 2, 2022, the first edition of the World Living Soils Forum was held in Arles-en-Provence, at the initiative of Moët-Hennessy. Soils are a complex ecosystem, too long forgotten, considered as simple surfaces to be exploited by an intensive production system.
At a time of climate change, erosion of biodiversity and increasingly unpredictable rainfall, soils have finally become what they are: an ecosystem in its own right, whose complexity and importance for the existence of our societies are being discovered.
Preserving these living soils is one of MoĂ«t Hennessy's major commitments to sustainable development.
By creating the World Living Soils Forum, Moët Hennessy is seeking to bring together the various players to accelerate this transition.
For two days, more than 100 speakers shared their knowledge and best practices to protect and regenerate the soil. Exchanging, better measuring, deploying projects on a large scale, getting winegrowers and farmers on board and collaborating within the industry, and even more widely, are the main conclusions of this first gathering.
The WLSF is the new high-level soil forum, which will be repeated every two years.
