Thibaut Déplanche is CEO of Celesta-lab, France's largest laboratory dedicated to soil biology (founded 1996, 19 staff, the most extensive soil-biology database in the country). An agronomist and oenologist by training, he has spent his entire career measuring living soils, from grain growers to the world's leading wine estates and global food companies. His compass: convince through measurement, technique and science, with no lyricism and no doom-mongering. Author of the French reference book on cover crops in viticulture (2025), he speaks to make living soils both readable and actionable in the field.
