Chantal van Ham works at Commonland to bring people together to restore landscapes and regenerate the Earth: our common land. With Commonland's holistic approach to landscape restoration - the 4 Returns framework - anyone can work with nature and their local community to restore a landscape at scale.
With a deep passion for nature, and experience in nature conservation, ecosystem restoration, natural capital and sustainable business development, Chantal believes that restoring our degraded natural systems and soils is the mission for humanity in this century. Science-based knowledge and best practices for action through long-term trust-based partnerships are essential for the improvement of peoples’ lives and to create true value within planetary boundaries.
Chantal brings her knowledge about nature-based solutions, international network and experience with EU policy and multi-stakeholder dialogue to support the development of landscape partnerships for upscaling holistic landscape restoration and regenerative business models to make nature, people and the economy thrive.
Chantal graduated in International Business Studies and has an MSc in Forest and Nature Conservation. Before joining Commonland this year, she worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers, IUCN - International Union for Conservation of Nature and Arcadis.
