Description
Jérôme Perez is Global Head of Sustainability at Nestlé Nespresso SA, where he leads the company’s sustainability strategy, The Positive Cup, guiding Nespresso’s ambition to be one of the world’s most sustainable premium coffee brands.
Under his leadership, sustainability is embedded across the value chain—from coffee sourcing and farmer livelihoods to climate action and circularity. Jérôme has played a central role in accelerating Nespresso’s transition to regenerative agriculture, with 85% of coffee now sourced from farms practising regenerative methods, and in achieving Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) validated climate targets. In 2025, Nespresso also renewed its B Corp™ certification with a significantly increased score, reinforcing its commitment to measurable, third party verified impact.
Jérôme has spearheaded transformative initiatives in partnership with farmers, NGOs, scientific institutions, and governments. These include pioneering financial resilience programmes for smallholder farmers, such as pension and crop insurance schemes, piloting Living Income Reference Price mechanisms with Fairtrade, and launching Reviving Origins—an initiative restoring coffee production in regions affected by conflict, economic hardship, or climate disruption.
Before joining Nespresso in 2008, Jérôme held senior finance roles within Nestlé Waters and began his career at Perrier, gaining broad experience across brands and operations. A French national, he holds a degree in Business & Management and is a regular contributor to global sustainability forums, advocating for regenerative agriculture, circular systems, and long term value creation.
