Description

Philippe Mauguin graduated as an Engineer specialized in Rural Engineering, Water and Forests and began his career as a research scientist at the Paris School of Mines (Ecole des Mines de Paris). Philippe Mauguin has been engaged in a succession of diverse professional experiences: responsible for agrifood affairs at the Ministry of Research, adviser to the Minister of Research; Director of Agriculture and Bioenergies at ADEME; Director of the scientific group Agriculture for Chemistry and Energy; Adviser for agriculture, forestry and food industry to the Prime Minister; Director of INAO; Director of the Regional and Interdepartmental Agency for Food, Agriculture and Forestry for the Ile-de-France Region; Director of Maritime Fisheries and Aquaculture; and, Chief of Staff to the Minister for Agriculture, Food Industry and Forestry. In 2016 he became President and CEO of INRA and following the merger of INRA and IRSTEA in January 2020, Mr Mauguin held this position in the newly founded institute, INRAE. He was reappointed to head INRAE in October 2024 for a 4-year term.
