Sidney Rostan is one of Europe's pioneering experts in biomimicry. In 2018, upon graduating from emlyon business school, he founded Bionnov Group (formerly Bioxegy), France's specialist in biomimicry. Together with his teams, he designs and develops technologies inspired by nature's ingenuity. Sophisticated, strong and lightweight materials, advanced optical, acoustic or thermal properties, high-performance and resource-efficient chemistry, robust mechanisms, cutting-edge processing and detection: nature is full of intelligent, sustainable lessons shaped by 3.8 billion years of evolution. Bionnov draws from this pool of biological solutions and works with major international industrial players (Airbus, Siemens, Safran, Alstom, L'Orรฉal, LVMH, Stellantis, Schneider Electric, and more) to design disruptive bio-inspired technologies that address contemporary industrial challenges. To date, Sidney and his teams have led over 120 biomimicry R&D projects across all sectors โ an unprecedented achievement in biomimicry in Europe. In 2026, Sidney launched his second venture in the field with the creation of Bionnov Forge, the first artificial intelligence software dedicated to bio-inspired R&D. He also regularly speaks in the media to raise awareness of the potential of nature-based solutions, the richness of biodiversity, and the economic, scientific and industrial potential of biomimicry. To date, over 45,000 people follow him on LinkedIn, and he is ranked 3rd Greentech influencer in France by Favikon.
