BERRY GRAINES
Agriculteur
I opted for agricultural training right from high school, with lots of experience in the field. This culminated in an engineering degree in 2011. After 3 years working for the Chamber of Agriculture, supporting farmers in their diversification projects, I joined my husband Damien in the Centre Val de Loire region. We're taking over his parents' farm with a project to develop low-input, high nutritional value crops with high added value. In 2017 we created our company BERRY GRAINES, which contracts upstream with local farmers and downstream with manufacturers and distributors. We invested in the equipment needed to sort and package the grains. Today, with a team of 10 employees, we work with around fifty partner farmers and offer around fifteen French seeds (quinoa, lentils, peas, small spelt, chia, amaranth, sorghum...). Our expertise lies in creating production chains for French cereals, pseudo-cereals and pulses, traceable from field to plate, sustainable and fair.
