Description
Born in Charente, in the heart of the Cognac vineyards, Julien Chadutaud grew up in a family deeply rooted in the industry: his father has been a winegrower for four generations and his grandfather was a Cellar Master.
From an early age, he became familiar with the technical aspects of Cognac, from the vineyard to distillation and then the ageing of eaux-de-vie, and developed a comprehensive expertise in the sector, which he applies to projects combining high quality standards with environmental performance.
Particularly attuned to sustainability issues, he is committed to promoting more virtuous viticultural practices and to understanding their impact both on the terroir and on the quality of the eaux-de-vie.
In 2019, Julien joined Maison Martell to roll out and accelerate regenerative viticulture, in line with the Pernod Ricard group’s S&R roadmap.
He structures and leads innovation and research initiatives with the teams, in order to reconcile traditional know-how, scientific progress and adaptation to climate change, making innovation and the teams’ expertise key levers in addressing the challenges of tomorrow.
